11 May 2026 – HAV Design has appointed Eirik Pedersen as VP Sales, strengthening the company’s commercial capacity. The appointment reinforces the company’s role as a partner to customers in the early decision-making phases, where vessel performance and economics are shaped.
Pedersen will have particular responsibility for the offshore segment and will contribute to further developing the company’s market activities and customer dialogue.
– We are very pleased to welcome Eirik to the team. He will play an important role in strengthening our presence in the segment. HAV Design connects operations, shipbuilding, and technology with commercial needs, and Eirik’s experience is highly relevant to this, says Gisle Vinjevoll Thrane, SVP Sales.
Pedersen joins from the position of Technical Manager at REM Offshore, where he was responsible for operations, maintenance, and technical strategies for a fleet of 20 vessels. He has broad experience from project execution, the shipyard industry, and operational environments, and has worked closely with both technical and commercial processes throughout his career.
HAV Design is experiencing increasing activity and has clear ambitions for further growth. At the same time, the company is developing its role across several markets, with greater focus on decisions that affect vessel performance and economics.
Managing Director Richard Schofield believes the appointment is an important step in the company’s continued development:
– HAV Design has always had a role as a partner to our customers. With increased uncertainty and continuously rising construction and operating costs, it is becoming more important to make the right decisions. We contribute insight and expertise that strengthen the decision-making basis, and with this appointment we can dedicate even more time to helping shipowners navigate complexity and make sound choices, says Schofield.
In the role of VP Sales, Pedersen will work closely with the company’s technical and professional environments.
– Many of the most important decisions are made long before a vessel enters operation. That is why it is exciting to work closely with the early phases, where the direction is set. For me, this also represents a shift from technical responsibility to a more commercial role. I am curious about how I can use my experience in new ways and contribute to solutions that deliver both better performance and stronger long-term economics. HAV Design has a strong professional environment, and I look forward to helping create strong results together with our customers, says Pedersen.
Through this appointment, HAV Design strengthens its presence in an important segment, with the goal of providing customers with the best possible basis for developing competitive vessels.
